What a day! From breakfast tacos (thank you, UPC Youth!) to faster projects helping us understand our feelings about the UPC community, to master projects like the new UPC brand identity and the UPC digital history collection, then on to worship with an original composition by Organist Keith Womer, and the Chancel Choir spectacularly back in place, to an enthusiastic welcome of college students by our UKirk Committee and Pastor Krystal, to blessing of the backpacks wth Pastor John, and a powerful sermon by Pastor Matt, it was truly a day to celebrate, and to praise God for the blessings of this place and of each other. And, if you could not be with us, know that we felt your presence and will welcome you when you return!
Gathering the Fragments
When Jesus tells the lakeside crowd to gather up the pieces, they understand the reference to manna in the wilderness. But Jesus isn't just talking about daily rations, or God’s abundance. Jesus insists on gathering the fragments: fragments of bread, fragments of fish, fragments of people - all the broken pieces.
Pastor Matt preaches from John 6:1-15, Sunday, August 26, 2018
