SUMMER SUPPERS ARE BACK!
Want to linger over a meal with some of your fellow UPCers?

Here’s how we make it happen. FIRST, we need hosts for each event. Become a host by agreeing to organize a dinner in your home (or elsewhere). Fill out the HOST form saying WHEN you would host (between June and July ) and HOW MANY people you would have, including IF you can accommodate children and how many. You can also designate a type of meal and dishes you want attendees to bring. Send the form to Suzanne Wofford at suzwofford@yahoo.com BY June 15.

Next, starting June 16, for 3 weeks the sign-up sheets will be in the courtyard after church for people to sign up for which meal they would like to attend and what dish they will bring. Hosts will be given the information about attendees.

The REST is just joyful connection with a group of people who share the UPC connection.

The Pentecost Offering unites us in a churchwide effort to support young people in Christ and inspire them to share their faith, ideas, and unique gifts with the church and the world. A gift to the Pentecost Offering helps the church encourage, develop, and support its young people, and also address the needs of at-risk children. 40% of the Pentecost offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The remaining 60% is used to support ministries of the Presbyterian Mission Agency:

  • Young Adult Volunteers
  • Ministries for Youth
  • Children-at-Risk
  • Pentecost Offering Financials

This year, the Christian Formation Committee will determine how best to use your gifts for young people in our area.
How to Give:

  • Use the envelope in Sunday's bulletin for your check or cash. Be sure to note "Pentecost" on the memo line.
  • Click here to Give Now through myUPC; enter the amount, select General Fund, and enter "Pentecost" in the memo field. Click "continue" to securely enter your credit or debit card information.

WELCOME, NEW MEMBERS!
Liz Graham
Liz Graham joins UPC by letter of transfer from First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. Liz, who has been worshiping with us for several months, is an academic advisor / teacher. She's indicated an interest in both Christian Formation and Congregational Connections, so you'll probably see her actively involved soon. In fact, she's already volunteered in Sunday School!

Welcome, Liz!
Dawie & Rykie Marx
Session also welcomed Dawie and Rykie Marx this past Sunday. Dawie is a member of DRC Waterloof Dutch Reform Church in Pretoria, South Africa, and is affiliating with UPC while pursuing a degree in civil engineering at UT. Rykie is an ordained minister in the Dutch Reform Church and has chosen UPC as her church home while in Austin with Dawie. Dawie has expressed an interest in our beautiful building and grounds, and has a particular interest in volunteering with homeless youth and families. Rykie may be exploring our Summer Choir or handbells in the fall. We're glad that you've made UPC your church home!

A FULFILLED COVENANT. . .
. . .how Jesus fulfilled the law in the sense that it was given full meaning. Jesus emphasized the deep, underlying message of the gospel, and this same message is continued through the apostle Paul and the writer of Hebrews. Relationships of faith empower us to live the covenant and spread the gospel message.

Prayers of thanksgiving from Julia Wynn:

"Topher's right ear has healed up after the ear drum repair surgery he had a year ago. Also, the CT scan was clear of any cholesteotoma or infection. The bad hearing in that ear will be addressed down the road.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers!"
