Attend a session on how to support young patients with eating disorders

Featuring speakers from McMaster's Pediatric Eating Disorders (ED) Program!

Wednesday, October 5, 1:30 - 4:00 p.m.


This is a hybrid event. There are 25 in-person spots available and an unlimited number of virtual spots.

SPEAKER BIOS:

Dr. Allison Rodrigues

Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics


Dr. Rodrigues is an adolescent medicine physician who returned to McMaster in 2016 after her fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children. She is co-medical director of McMaster's Pediatric ED program and is also part of the Pediatric Chronic Pain program. She is actively involved in medical education specifically at the post-graduate level.


Anick LeClerc

Registered Dietitian


Anick has worked in McMaster's Pediatric ED program for ten years. She graduated from McGill University in 2002 and has specialized in the treatment of EDs ever since.  Anick has years of clinical and research experience from her time at Sick Kids Hospital and the Douglas Mental Health Institute. Anick has been an integral member of in-patient, day treatment, and out-patient teams specializing in nutritional counselling, FBT and DBT treatment modalities.


Cheryl Webb

Clinical Specialist, Social Work


Cheryl has provided treatment as a therapist to hundreds of children with the full spectrum of EDs using evidence-based care modalities such as FBT and DBT. She has been instrumental in the development of McMaster's Pediatric ED program since its inception in 2000. 

All members of the primary care practice team will benefit from this training, which will provide an overview of:


  • Practical approaches to supporting individuals (and their families) with eating disorders in primary care
  • McMaster's Pediatric ED program - when and how to refer and how to manage care while waiting for admission
  • Other local stepped-care options for eating disorders support


There will be time for Q&A and discussion.
