Explicit Vocabulary Instruction (EVI) for Families: Supporting Your Child's Developing Vocabulary at Home

This session is for parents and family members who are interested in learning strategies they can use to support early reading skills at home. Turn the everyday activities you already do with your young children into extra supports for their reading and vocabulary development. The more they hear it, the more they learn! This training is intended for families with children who are 3-8 years old.

Parent Member of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and Committee on Special Education (CSE) Training

Join us to gain a better understanding of the role and requirements of the Parent Member of the CPSE/CSE  and the Special Education Process as per the Part 200 Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. Participants will acquire techniques and strategies to become an effective participant in the CPSE/CSE process. This training is for current and prospective parent members and anyone interested in gaining a better understanding of the parent member role and/or the CPSE and CSE process.

Student Directed Individualized Education Program (IEP) for Families

Participants will learn to identify ways to meaningfully engage and promote their child’s participation in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and Committee on Special Education (CSE) Meeting as well as identify and discuss how to build and encourage their child’s self-determination skills.
