From the Executive Director,

Let's Celebrate Our History!

As the year nears an end, we often look ahead and consider the goals that we will set out to reach in the New Year.

One of Claremont Heritage's goals for 2020 is to bring attention to the people in our past who were instrumental for making Claremont what it is today, as well as the people who are making a difference and adding to our future history today!  MORE

We will celebrate Institutions in Claremont like the Folk Music Center, home to a plethora of significant musicians for who for decades have brought joy to many!  They will be honored in our Treasury of Claremont Music Project in multiple events in 2020.

We will be launching the Muriel O'Brien Speaker Series, named for one of Claremont's finest citizens who left a portion of her estate to endow the project.

We are also seeking funding to complete a documentary about the Padua Hills Theatre and the Mexican Players who performed there for over 40 years and impacted many with their message of cross-cultural understanding.

These are stories that need to be told ! We can tell them through educational programs, documentary films, exhibitions and digital media. The impact of those in our past is still being felt today and many of our upcoming events will reflect how the Claremont influence is still alive and well!  Please join us in celebrating our special community!

Best regards,

david shearer
