Please note the following detour and lane-closure updates for the I-64/I-264 Interchange Improvements projects in Norfolk and Virginia Beach:
Kempsville Road
Southbound Kempsville Road will close 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly at the I-264 underpass through mid-April and from 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, through 5 a.m. Monday, April 8. Traffic is detoured to Newtown Road during the closures.
Kempsville Road is reduced to one lane in each direction near the I-264 underpass for bridge reconstruction work.
Curlew Drive
Curlew Drive will remain closed near the I-64 underpass until approximately mid- to late April for underground utility work. Traffic is detoured via Military Highway, I-264 and Newtown Road. Access will remain open to all residences, businesses and streets off of Curlew Drive.
