The Rev. Engram graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in 1981 and Covington Theological Seminary in 1990. He was ordained in 1985 by a church located just an hour from Lakeside, the Church of the Open Door in Elyria.
The Rev. Engram served as a youth pastor from 1981-1988 before relocating to Phoenix and serving as Evangelism, Young Marrieds & Executive Pastor at Palmcroft Baptist Church for the next eight years. He graduated from Liberty Seminary in 1996 with his master's degree in religion.
In addition to serving as the Senior Pastor of Desert Springs Community Church, a position he has held since 1995, for the past six years, he has served as the Executive Director of the Southwest Church Connection, formerly known as the Southwest CBAmerica.
Southwest Church Connection consists of 80 churches and its mission is to promote church health, congregational multiplication and leadership development throughout the region. The Rev. Engram is a paragon of what this mission looks like when lived out.
For the past two decades, under his leadership, the Desert Springs congregation has thrived and expanded, growing from an average attendance of 55 people to more than 1,400. During this tremendous period of growth and revival, the church has moved twice and is currently located in Goodyear. The Rev. Engram has also led Desert Springs to plant new churches – one in Southwest Goodyear and another in La Paz Centro, Nicaragua. Desert Springs will be planting its third church in January 2021 in Buckeye, Ariz.
