Governor Visits New Behavioral Health Hospital

This month Governor Josh Stein and Secretary Sangvai visited ECU's new Behavioral Health Hospital. During our time we were able to discuss the challenges of mental health and the work of our committee on IVC and Public Safety. NC East Alliance

This month I had the opportunity to attend an event with NC East Alliance. During our time we were able to discuss the work they have been doing for Eastern NC. Thank you, NC East Alliance for inviting me out.

Minges Pepsi Facility Tour

Last month I had the opportunity to tour the Minges Pepsi Facility. This is a family-owned business that has been a pillar of the community, contributing to jobs and community causes, and the very fabric of our community. Thank you Minges for giving me a tour of the facility.

Pitt County Leaders

Last week I had the opportunity to have a conversation with Pitt County Leaders. During our time we were able to prepare for the upcoming legislative session. We were also able to talk about understanding priorities and dialogue about the future. Thank you, Pitt County Leaders for taking the time to talk!

NC Dental Society

Last month I was able to have a conversation with local dentists, the North Carolina Dental Society, and Representative Brown. During our time we were able to discuss legislative priorities, advocacy strategies, and the upcoming session. I am committed to support our dentists and the quality care for their patients.

School Visit

I had an awesome time with Pitt County Schools and learning about student success, innovative programs, and career and technical education. During my time visiting schools, I was able to go to Ayden-Grifton High School, Lakeforest Elementary School, and Chicod School. Thank you Dr. Lassiter and your entire team!

Grifton Shad Festival

Last week I was able to judge the fish stew contest and see the duck race. I had a great time and was also in the parade. Thank you to the town of Grifton for inviting me.

Property Tax Reform

The NC House Republicans have advanced a constitutional amendment to place real reform on property tax hikes. Many local governments are collecting far more than inflation and population growth can justify. This reform would require responsible caps that bring fairness to homeowners, renters, and businesses.
