NC House Passes Shalom Act

The NC House gave bipartisan approval to the SHALOM Act to help fight against the rise in antisemitism and violence on college campuses and elsewhere. By clearly outlining the definition of antisemitism in state law, this bill will provide a much-needed tool for training, educating, and prosecuting hate crimes against Jewish people.

"I was proud to vote for the SHALOM Act to help combat the recent rise in antisemitism seen within anti-Israel protests on college campuses and elsewhere. This bill will help educate, raise awareness, and counter hate crimes and discrimination against Jewish individuals." - Rep. Tim Reeder.

Rep. Reeder Tours Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plain Center

Rep. Reeder toured the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain center last week. He was led by three young tour guides who love the center. "The impact of this organization on our children is remarkable." Rep. Reeder said.

He was impressed with the Boys and Girls Club Code: "I believe in God and the right to worship according to my own faith and religion; I believe in America and the American way of life; the Constitution, and Bill of Rights; I believe in Fair Play, Honesty, and Sportsmanship; I believe in my Boys & Girls Club which stands for these things." What a great message for the young people of Eastern NC!

Meeting with Constituents

Over the last few weeks, Rep. Reeder has met with numerous constituents from Pitt County. Learning about issues in our community is one of the most important aspects of being a Representative. "Thank you to everyone who came to Raleigh to meet with me. Hearing what folks from home advocate for is important, it allows me to work towards making our community a better place for everyone. It is an honor to represent Pitt County in the House." - Rep. Reeder
