ECU Health Simulation Truck

This week ECU Brody School of Medicine brought their health simulation truck to the General Assembly. It was so great to see some ECU people and to be able to take a tour of the health simulation truck. This truck is an outreach education vehicle that provides interprofessional simulation-based healthcare education. Thank you, ECU Brody School of Medicine for taking the time to come out!

Governor's Volunteer Service Awards

This week I had the opportunity to attend the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards and watch the DH Conley ROTC program receive the award for their volunteer service with the NC Senior Games. I always appreciate getting to see young folks from our community giving back!

Budget Update

Area budget committees released and voted on their budget provisions Thursday. They will move to Rules Committee and to the full House next week. I was proud to serve in leadership roles for Health Appropriations Committee and the Opioid Task Force. The budget for this biennium is very tight, and difficult decisions were made prioritizing rural communities and investing in programs that are efficient and effective.

Infection Control Professionals

This week I had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Infection Control Professionals. It was also good to see a few people from ECU here with them. These team members help keep our patients and staff safe. Thank you, for the great work you do!
