NC House Passes Mini-Budget Agreement

The NC House gave approval to HB 10 this month. This mini-budget requires our sheriffs to cooperate with ICE, funds our public schools and community colleges, fully funds the Opportunity Scholarship program, and provides for rural broadband expansion.

"I was proud to vote for HB 10, to fund educational opportunities, increase access to broadband and protect public safety."

- Rep. Tim Reeder.

Meeting with Attindas and NC Diaper Bank

Rep. Reeder met with the leadership of Attindas, a global personal care products company with a manufacturing facility in Greenville. This plant makes diapers and incontinence products for all ages. Employing nearly 300 people, it is growing to meet future demands. Joining the meeting with Attindas were representatives from the Diaper Bank of North Carolina www.ncdiaperbank.org. This organization provides diapers and other products to families across NC.

Rep. Reeder Tours Pirate Pediatrics

Rep. Reeder had a very nice tour of Pirate Pediatrics to learn about a program they use called Reach Out and Read. This program integrates reading and books into regular well-child visits. It evaluates development and reinforces reading to children at a young age. I appreciate learning about the programs the NC General Assembly helps to fund to ensure taxpayer money is well spent.

Local Projects

Rep. Reeder met with council and staff from the City of Greenville, The North Carolina Government, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation to discuss major projects for 10th Street and Memorial Drive. These projects will develop a comprehensive solution to protect pedestrians while improving traffic flow.

Meeting with Dental Students

Rep. Reeder had a nice time talking to dental students at the East Carolina School of Dental Medicine about the importance of advocacy and some of the tools that they can use. Much of health care regulation happens on the state level and Rep. Reeder believes that it is critical to have their input.

Rep. Reeder recognized by NC FreeEnterprise

Rep. Reeder was happy to be recognized by the North Carolina FreeEnterprise Foundation, a premiere, non-partisan organization that studies the business environment. Rep. Reeder has worked hard this term to help create a robust business environment for NC. He believes that without business and industry growth, the citizens of North Carolina won’t have jobs to support their families. Rep. Reeder is very grateful for the recognition.

Rep. Reeder Meets with Leaders in Medicine

Rep. Reeder met with medical leaders in Charlotte alongside NC House candidate Dr. Grant Campbell to discuss health policy, actions of the legislature, and how to engage physicians in advocacy.
