April 2020
Friends,

As you know, President Trump has extended CDC COVID-19 guidelines until April 30th. In our continuing effort to protect our community and employees, we have decided to keep our office closed through April 30th.

We encourage you to practice social distancing, washing your hands frequently, and keeping your hands away from your eyes. If you have an appointment scheduled during this time period, a member of our team will be reaching out to you to reschedule your appointment.

We will continue to have a team member on-site from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm to answer phone calls and for glasses and contact lens related issues. The doors will be locked, so we ask that you call the office upon arrival at the number below to be given access.

Drs. Perry and Susan Lee will also be available for emergency issues both during the week and after hours. Contact us at 706.453.4535 and you will be directed to alternate emergency numbers.

We look forward to seeing you all when we resume seeing patients on May 1st.

Be Well & Stay Safe,
The Lake Oconee Eye Care - Vision Source Team

We are are so excited to announce that our team is well underway in the construction of our new office at 6061 Lake Oconee Parkway. The new facility will be an expansion from our existing office located at the entrance to Harbor Club. Over the last 20 years, our team has grown from our original 1,250 sq ft location to our current 2,500 sq ft location and now our new eye care center, when complete, will feature a 5,000 sq ft location to serve the community as it continues to grow. The expansion and opening of this new facility comes at the commemoration of our 20th anniversary at Lake Oconee.

The new facility will allow us to schedule more specialty provider hours for both retinal and cataract surgery consultations for patient convenience, as well as the ability to expand specialty contact lens and dry eye services. Our retail space will double in size allowing us to provide an expanded and wide-ranging selection of unique styles that our patients can have access to right here at home instead of traveling to larger metropolitan areas.
As always, our focus is never on us, but on you our patients. You will continue to get the personalized service and family feel that you have come to expect at Lake Oconee Eye Care Vision Source. In addition, offering our patients the latest in technology continues to be a priority.

Plans are currently underway for a community ribbon cutting and grand opening in late 2020 so be sure to follow us for continuous updates on this exciting project.

From the bottom of hearts, we thank you for trusting Lake Oconee Eye Care for all of your vision and eye care needs.
Thank you to  Landmark Construction & Development  for being an awesome partner during the build.

Maui Jim got its start in 1980 as a small company selling sunglasses on the beach in Lahaina, Hawaii. They saw a need in the market for technology that could combat intense glare and harmful UV while bringing the brilliant colors of the island to life. Maui Jim offers over 125 styles of sunglasses, 100% of which are polarized and protect from 100% of UVA and UVB rays.

If you suffer from frequent headaches, it might be time to schedule an eye exam.

For many people, headaches can be a symptom of uncorrected vision problems. This doesn’t happen in all cases of uncorrected or undiagnosed vision problems, and of course not all headaches are caused by vision problems, but the connection is a significant one — just one more reason why regular eye exams are important!

Some people might think of indoor tanning as the safer alternative to sunbathing, but that is far from accurate.

In fact, in a briefing before the US Congress, eye doctors, dermatologists, surgeons, and other physicians spoke about the dangers of indoor tanning, and the World Health Organization considers it highly carcinogenic (cancer-causing) in humans. But what exactly is the danger to the health of our eyes from indoor tanning?
