Greetings!
We are in the home stretch of the transition of TD Ameritrade Institutional (TDAI) to Schwab Advisor Services (Schwab), which is set to complete over Labor Day weekend (Sept 1-4). As we get closer, we wanted to provide you with some resources, key dates and what to expect along the way.
Everything will be business as usual through close of business September 1st. After that, both TDAI and Schwab online access will be disabled until the transition is complete and back up and running for start of business September 5th. There is nothing that you need to do, TDAI and Schwab will handle everything. To learn more about the transition and Schwab, visit their Client Learning Center.
On or about August 1, 2023, you will receive a Key Information Packet that will be the official notification of your new eight-digit Schwab account number. The Packet will be sent via the U.S. Postal Service, regardless of your communications preference setup with TD Ameritrade. In addition to the account number, the Packet will provide important details about the transition, key milestones, and what you can do to avoid disruptions in accessing your account after conversion. You will also be prompted to create a Schwab Alliance login ID and password, which you will need to access your account information after the conversion.
After the transition to Schwab is complete, they will send you an Account Verification notice for each of your accounts to confirm it was moved to Schwab. An email or letter will be sent according to your communication preference on or about September 5, 2023. Once received, you should review your account/s, confirm all information is correct, and set up your Schwab Alliance credentials if you have not already done so.
