UPDATE: Watch Remotely for Today's Appropriations Health Subcommittee Hearing!

Today, the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health will be holding hearings on H.B. 6864, An Act Concerning the State Budget for the Biennium Ending June 30th, 2027 and Making Appropriations Therefor.

We are now recommending that supporters watch the hearing remotely on YouTube or CT-N! With over three hundred people on the list of speakers signed up to testify, and a 4:00 PM start time, we believe it will be a robust and important conversation lasting well into the night.

Instead of coming in person, please take the opportunity to write testimony today in support of the DMHAS allocations for Housing Support Services in the FY 2026-27 state budget, and to reiterate our request for $33.5 Million for the Homeless Response System.

You can download our DMHAS testimony template here - please submit written testimony today!

We will be back in person next week on Wednesday, February 26th for the Appropriations Subcommittee on Conservation & Development (DOH). Keep an eye out for more information and a testimony template.

Please plan to arrive for Wednesday's hearing at 4:00PM, and wear your yellow shirts - we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Order a Shirt and Show Your Support!

Our goal is to have advocates wear their t-shirts to in a bold statement for change, all session long!

Other Ways to Participate!

Sign up to Write an Op-Ed: Op-eds and Letters to the Editor are a great way to inform your community and region about issues you care about, and whether you need help brainstorming, drafting, editing, or submitting your letter, we are here to assist.

Get In Touch with Legislators: Let them know that we appreciate that Governor Lamont included the Homeless Response System in his proposed budget, and now we need them to support legislation that will solve homelessness in your community.

  • Using our legislative directories, invite legislators to your site, give them a call, or send them an email!
  • Check out our fact sheets, which offer plenty of information about why this legislation is so important.
