Blue Cart Recycling Update
Manufacturing is set to begin after the blue cart sale concludes on June 5. Thank you for your patience! Ordering in bulk ensures Township residentreceive the lowest possible pricing.

Delivery dates will depend upon manufacturing and shipping schedules. Toter anticipates manufacturing will take 4-6 weeks. Once the cart shipment has arrived, the Genoa Township Maintenance Department will begin assembly which is expected to take one week.

Each cart manufactured will be reserved to fulfill pre-paid orders. There will not be any inventory stored for future sales.
Carts will be delivered to the end of your driveway. An email notice will be sent two days prior to cart delivery. Due to logistical constraints, there is no option available for customers to pick-up carts themselves.

Wait until you have received your new blue recycling cart from Genoa Township before returning your red tote bin.

Leave any red tote bins you no longer want stacked, empty, and upside-down at the curb on the day of your scheduled blue cart delivery. Genoa Township Maintenance Department will collect red bins to return to Rumpke en masse.

If you would like to keep your old red tote bin, you may continue using it for recycling or other purposes.
Steps to return a rented green Rumpke cart:

  1. Wait to receive your new blue recycling cart from Genoa Township.
  2. Call Rumpke customer service at 1-800-828-8171 to cancel your rental. Rumpke will continue billing for cart rental until the customer has called to authorize removal of their green rental cart.
  3. On your regular collection day (Friday), set your green cart out at the end of your driveway. Rumpke will retrieve rental carts that have been authorized by the customer for pick-up.
Both free red bins and Rumpke cart rental will continue to be offered in addition to the blue cart program. Monthly billing will continue for Rumpke collection service regardless of the container option selected by a resident. No new monthly charges will result from using the blue cart.
