Dear Neighbors,
Personal property taxes are due TODAY, October 5th. You can pay your taxes in person at the Mason District Governmental Center via our new Tax Kiosk Machine.
The Tax Kiosk machine CANNOT take check payments today to allow Fairfax County appropriate processing time. Cash and debit/credit card payments are accepted.
Here's a few helpful reminders:
- If you're paying with cash: the tax kiosk does not accept or return coin change, therefore your amount due will be rounded down to the nearest dollar.
- If you're paying with a credit or debit card: please be aware that there is a 2.35% processing fee.
Other ways to pay:
-
Online (e-check): Free. No service fee. This is the cheapest electronic option.
-
Online (credit or debit card): A third-party processor charges a 2.5% service fee on the transaction, whether you pay online or in person.
-
In person: The Fairfax County Government Center at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 223, accepts walk-in payments by check, cash, or card TODAY until 6:00 p.m.
-
Drop box: For check payments, the Government Center parking lot has drop-off boxes available 24 hours a day.
-
Mail: Send a check with the payment voucher from your tax bill in the return envelope provided. Payments postmarked on or before the due date are considered to be on time, regardless of date received.
