April 16, 2020

Hello members and friends of the Presbytery of Milwaukee,

On April 16, Wisconsin extended its Safer At Home order to May 26, 2020.  The new order recognizes that our social distancing efforts have been successful in flattening the curve of projected infections and deaths.  We celebrate how our efforts to stay home are working to protect our health.  The challenge now is to not lose our momentum and risk a resurgence of infections.  The order loosens some restrictions on essential businesses and services, but it continues to urge social distancing and other protective measures.  For congregations, the limit on gatherings of fewer than 10 people has not changed.

So, your Presbytery leaders are once again strongly encouraging our congregations and work groups to follow this order and continue to worship and meet from the safety of your homes.  In this time of uncertainty and upheaval, we have seen your tremendous faithfulness and creativity.  You have found ways to worship, connect with the community, and sustain ministries while being protective of each other and loving toward our neighbors.  We all look forward to the day when we can gather together again, but we also recognize that the timing is out of our hands.  We will continue to monitor the advice of government and public health officials to keep you informed.  The latest information about financial grants, worship resources, health practices, and more can be found on the Presbytery's COVID-19 webpage

In gratitude,
Judy Jaggard (Presbytery Moderator)
Christian D. Boyd (Stated Clerk)
Rachel Yates (Presbytery Executive)
