A Word from the CEO
An earlier version of the newsletter contained an error regarding the terrorist attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. We apologize for any misunderstanding it may have caused.
This month has brought painful headlines close to home. We were all shaken by the targeted attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. We pray for the rapid recovery of those who were injured and we hold the community in our hearts as they rebuild.
At the same time, global tensions and the conflict involving Iran has added another layer of uncertainty to daily life and to the markets. When headlines move quickly, markets often do as well, and we have seen reactions across sectors, including oil and gas.
As a long-term investor saving for retirement, what is a prudent response? The JRB reiterates the mantra we’ve shared during other periods of volatility: “I have lost nothing in the stock market because I am not selling today.” It may feel counterintuitive, but instead of reacting to the market, focus on staying anchored to your long-term plan.
Please watch Rabbi Shalom Plotkin’s video. He discusses how to invest in difficult times such as these. “The JRB is your friend. Your best ally. The whole goal is time in the market, not timing the market.”
If you have questions about about investing during times of volatility or want to review your financial plan, please reply to this email or call 888-JRB-FREE (572-3733).
Wishing you an early Hag Pesah Sameah,
