The Mill Neck Family of Organizations is thrilled to announce that its Annual Apple Festival will be held on Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
The festival will be back in person this year, following a two year drive-thru format due to the pandemic. The excitement is building, as the 2022 festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. Located on Mill Neck Manor’s 86-acre campus, the Apple Festival draws tens of thousands of visitors who return year after year to enjoy this long celebrated tradition. Mill Neck Manor alumni also attend the Apple Festival as an annual “homecoming,” with the event bringing the heart of the Long Island Deaf Community together.
The 2022 Apple Festival will bring the best of the fall season to Long Island; showcasing an assortment of apple varieties, Karl Ehmer specialty meats, grilled bratwurst, a wide variety of cheeses, and plenty of mouth-watering baked goods, jellies, fudge, strudel, and more. The festival also showcases the latest in Deaf technology, healthcare checkups, children’s face painting, handmade country crafts, American Sign Language books/novelty items, and a pumpkin patch.
Other exciting additions that visitors can expect from this year’s festival include craft beer and spirits for purchase, complimentary Charcuterie tutorials in the “Cheese House,” and rides and games for the kids. A schedule of live entertainment is also in store, featuring a lineup of musicians, children’s entertainment, ASL classes, and many more activities throughout the weekend.
This year's Apple Festival proceeds will help to support a building renovation for Mill Neck's Day Habilitation Program, which serves Deaf adults with developmental disabilities. Individuals in this program will have an inclusive and equitable Deaf-friendly space, creating a visually accessible environment that fosters learning and equal access to communication.
Mill Neck Family of Organizations is dedicated to creating a world in which Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals are included, empowered, celebrated and embraced as equals through quality educational, employment, audiological and spiritual programs and services.
PLEASE NOTE: Parking fee is $20 per vehicle (suggested donation). No dogs on campus (certified service dogs, with proof, are permitted). No smoking on campus. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
