A Proud Producer of Second Heart Homes' Debut Documentary
Art Avenue recently invested in furthering the mission of a charity near and dear to its heart, Second Heart Homes.
Their debut documentary, The Healing Mirror, premiered at the Sarasota Film Festival and has now been made publicly available to watch for free.
Filmed at Sarasota Art Museum from poetry workshops led by Sarasota poet Cedric Hameed, the film follows residents as they explore four themes: self-image, self-esteem, fear, and triumph. Through original poetry and reflection, this film offers powerful insights into the SHH residents' personal transformations through their creative expression.
Second Heart Homes recently opened two additional homes and now provides permanent housing for 80 men and women across 13 homes through a unique supportive housing model that combines housing, support, and love—all without government funding.

Art Avenue is also proud to partner with Behavior Teaching Solutions to offer creative workshops at both Sarasota gallery locations, including Language of Love—exploring healing, belonging, and emotional wellness through music, movement, poetry, and guided conversation, for neurodivergent children, teens, and adults alike.
From neighborhood events in Florida to behavioral science summits in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, Behavioral Teaching Solutions creates meaningful change through its inclusive events, creative collaborations, and advocacy rooted in science and compassion.
For those who may not already know, Paul has an autistic son named Alex. The endearing father-son duo can be found sight-reading their classical favorites, from Beethoven to Schubert, at various Behavioral Teaching Solutions events, including Cook & Connect—with Paul on the violin and Alex on the piano.

Join acclaimed artist Huihan Liu, Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters Society of America, Member of the American Impressionist Society, and Distinguished Faculty Member of the Portrait Society of America National Conference, for an in-depth, multi-figure narrative painting workshop entitled "In The Rehearsal Room," designed for artists already comfortable with painting from life who wish to elevate their skills in multi-figure painting and composition.

Before he was a seasoned art dealer representing investment-level works by Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Peter Max, Paul Sykes was a classically trained violinist. "The violin saved my life as a child," he says.
