Living in FAITH | Living in FELLOWSHIP | Living to SERVE

LIVING FAITHFULLY & FULLY IN CHRIST

In a world today that still appears to be shrouded in darkness, the light has come. As light and light bearers we have the privilege and the obligation to let our lights shine so that people might see our good works and glorify the Father in Heaven. Christmas is a perfect time to do just that. With lights on our trees, lights on our bushes, lights in our homes, lights around our house, and yes, this year, lights throughout our church campus, we will share with a community of people dwelling in darkness, THE Greatest Light, the light of Christ!

For the month of December, we are going to “let our lights shine”! A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Help us to shine the light of Christ on the BGC Hill this Christmas as we work to place lights on every tree, every bush, and every building. Let's remind our community that “the light [still] shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

ADVENT

November 27-December 24

A period of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Week 3: Joy

Take some time to read and reflect on scriptures from the Old & New Testaments about the joy of our salvation in Jesus Christ.

Week 2 Recap: PEACE

The Second Week of Advent is the week of Peace. Jesus came to be the Prince of Peace. The word peace is the Hebrew word shalom which means completeness or well being. Jesus did not come just to end wars, but to make us complete by saving us from our sinfulness.

Week 1 Recap: HOPE

We are a people of hope whose faith is marked by an expectation that we should always be ready for the coming King. The world often seems dark making the wait for Christ very difficult.

TESTIMONIAL ...

"...thank you once again for all that you and your volunteers have done to serve our families at Leesville Road Middle School. The amount of time and effort set forth truly showed as your many church volunteers offered their time and attention to this cause. I wish that you could have seen the expressions on the faces of the families as they received this special gift from you and your church community! We feel so very blessed and fortunate to have you in our corner!"

With the greatest of gratitude! (Please share with your congregation)
