Falsely Arrested Plaintiffs Announce Largest Settlement in Occupy Wall Street Case to Date

 

CM Rodriguez to Discuss Need for Continued Transparency in Events During 2011-12 NYPD Crackdown

 

New York, NY--On Tuesday, June 10th, 2014, plaintiffs falsely arrested during a peaceful march during the Occupy Wall Street protests, will discuss the experience of their arrest for the first time. This recently settled case led to the largest monetary settlement in an Occupy Wall Street case to date.

 
The Law Office of Stecklow Cohen & Thompson, who represented the plaintiffs and secured this settlement, will discuss the details of the case.
 
They will be joined by City Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, who will discuss the continued need for transparency of the NYPD's practices used against Occupy Wall Street and other peaceful, first amendment protected activities.
