Remember that we can assist with more than just a ride. We can also help with household tasks, visits - in person or on the phone, transitioning back home after a hospital or rehab stay, handyperson assistance, errands, getting organized, helping to find answers to a variety of questions you may have, technical assistance and a whole lot more. Just call or email the LFV office.

12/10 @ noon - 1:30 pm: LFV Men's Lunch  / China Pavilion, 4611 Sangamore Road, next to CVS in the Sumner Mall. Join us for great conversation & a tasty lunch buffet! (M&V).

12/10, Tea begins @ 1:00 pm: Strathmore Mansion Scandanavian Music Tea. Confirmed RSVPs only, event full, waiting list. Will have time after the Tea to tour the Juried Exhibit of Fine Art in Miniatures from Around the World, and visit Strathmore's Gift Shop, in full holiday swing! (M&V).

12/17 @ 9:30 am: Arts Outing - U.S. Botanic Gardens, Special Holiday Exhibits. Cost for transportation $20. Van leaves at 9:30, meet in front of Safeway. Returning at noon (M&V).

12/6 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Game Day/ Sumner Village Community Center, 4910 Sentinel Drive - Bridge, Mahjong, Scrabble, Mexican Train, Rummikub and more! We give lessons and welcome game suggestions! (M&V).

12/6 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm: Sawbuck Salon/ Gabrielle Grunau & Bill Grosshandler's house.  Group meets every 7 weeks (M&V). 

12/13 @ 1:30 - 2:30 pm:  LFV Library Event  - The Challenges of Reporting in Turbulent Times /  with  Richard Harris, currently Editorial Producer of the nationally syndicated news magazine "Matter of Fact" with Soledad O'Brien (ALL).

12/20 @ 10:30 am showtime:  Senior Cinema at the Avalon - Green Book  / Tickets $5. Movie will be announced the week prior. Members usually carpool. Let us know if you need a ride (ALL, transportation only for M&V).

12/20 @ 5:00 - 6:30 pm: Happy Hour & Light Dinner / Enjoy non- & alcoholic drinks, a little dinner & lively conversation with LFV friends at Passion Fin in Sumner Mall, 4611 Sangamore Rd., separate checks (M&V).

12/27 @ 1:30 - 2:30 pm: LFV Library Event  - Retirement and Regeneration/ with Paul Vogelzang, creator and host of the widely acclaimed podcast show, Not Old - Better (ALL).

1/15 @ 9:45 am:  Arts Outing - Rodarte Exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts/ D ocent & solo touring / lunch in museum cafe. F o r Confirmed RSVPs/ Taking wait list names.  Cost is $30 for non-Museum Members or $26 for Museum Members (including $20 for transportation).  Meet at 9:45 am in front of Safeway. 1/22 @ 2:00 pm: NEW Handicrafts Group!  Enjoy great conversations with other members.  Bring sewing, knitting, quilting or your favorite project. Join this FIRST MEETING at the LFV Office to discuss the group's beginnings (M&V).

1/23 @ 1:30 - 3:00 pm:  LFV Library Event - Teeth: The Story of Beauty, Inequality, and the Struggle for Oral Health in America, with author and journalist Mary Otto, former Washington Post Staff Writer and prominent leader of oral health topics for the Association of Health Care Journalists (ALL).

Location: LAUNCH Workplaces on the 1st Floor North of 4701 Sangamore, the same building where the LFV office is located, next to the Safeway.  Ann has over 100 paintings that are exhibited and for sale in the LAUNCH space. 

Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday

A portion of all sale proceeds from Ann's paintings will be donated to LFV!
