Jessie will be sharing how she created the NY Fiber Trail, a season-long self-guided tour of 78 yarn shops, fiber farms, yarn mills and textile studios throughout New York State. She will go into her inspirations (her retail yarn shop customer's willingness to travel & the success of the many NY tourism trails such as the Finger Lakes wine trails and the Haunted History Trail) as well as how she translated those ideas into a successful niche tourism opportunity. We exceeded our goal of 18 travel shows, returning to the NYS Fair and expanding our reach to Canada, including Montreal and Quebec. We also brought the Tourism Champions booth to member events and shared updates in the weekly NYSTIA newsletter. As we gear up for 2025, we're excited to elevate the program further. Last week, a NYSTIA team got to travel all the way up to beautiful Akwesasne, New York, for the Akwesasne Tourism Summit! Bob Provost spoke as the keynote on Wednesday Morning, his topic: Tourism Done Right. Brooke Wilson also spoke on the sustainability and agrotourism panel, where she shared different green initiatives across NYS. Rachele Markle stayed late to tour and experience local attractions, and visit the Cultural Museum.
