Blood Drive Emergency

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. More than 44,000 blood donations are needed every single day. Many summer blood drives were cancelled due to natural disasters resulting in a loss of 19,000 units. Every single unit of blood is precious and needed to close this gap. Many appointments are still

available. Please make an appointment today to donate at our October 3rd drive from 12:00 – 6:00 PM. Make an appointment: 1-800-RED CROSS, www.redcross.org or sign-up at the table in the Narthex. Spread the word and invite others to join us in replenishing a healthy plentiful blood supply for all.

September is National

Sickle Cell Awareness Month

During September, the American Red Cross highlights an important observance designated by Congress: National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder that has no universal cure. Blood transfusions can help reduce recurrent pain crises patients often feel, as well as other sickle cell disease complications such as organ damage and even strokes.

Help shine a light on the importance donated blood plays to the physical well-being of those with sickle cell. The Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage and more individuals are needed to donate now to help patients counting on lifesaving blood for treatment of conditions such as sickle cell disease.

We look forward to your support of our Blood Drive on Thursday Oct. 3 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. Join us and make a difference! Sign up at the Blood Drive table in the narthex following our worship services on Sundays in September or make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or online at redcross.org.
