Shul School need-to-knows
Feb 13 - Feb 20, 2020
Taft Shabbat this weekend has been cancelled on account of parades.
Have a beautiful Shabbat and a joyful Carnival season!
Dear Shul School families,

Thanks for a wonderful Tu B'Shevat celebration last week! This week, I am blessed to be at a Jewish spiritual retreat at Isabella Freedman and won't be present for Shul School on Sunday or Tuesday. Thank you all for helping things run smoothly without me!

Please come at 9am for a new voice leading Kabbalat Kehilla -- Mr. Eidan Shalom, one of our beloved teachers, will be lofting songs with all of you. Ms. Debbie Wells will be helping out with dismissal, and Rabbi Silver will be around should you need anything more.

Also, join for Parent Bet Midrash to study with Rabbi Silver at 10:15!

Sunday

  • Kabbalat Kehilla 9-9:15am - led by Mr. Eidan Shalom
  • Pick-up at 11:30am - Ms. Debbie Wells overseeing dismissal

Tuesday

  • Regular Shul School Tuesday, 4-6pm at the Uptown J - Ms. Jennie is out of town, and the teachers will be taking good care of all these kids.

Scroll down for a list of upcoming family-friendly events.

In peace,

Study with Rabbi Silver while your kids are in Shul School!

LimmudFest 2020 --  Mar 20-22
Mark your calendars for LimmudFest 2020 and keep your eyes peeled for upcoming programming and registration information! There will be activities and sessions for people of all ages!

Ongoing
Youth Services    -- 10:30-11:30am. Feb 15, Mar 7 & 21, Apr 4 & 18, May 9 & 23
  • Family Shabbat & Mini Minyan with Ms. Meryl in the Beit Midrash
  • Jr. Congregation with Ms. Rachel in the Youth Lounge
  • (We've made some changes because we are currently short on little babies, so Ms. Meryl's amazing talents have been going unused. We have some quickly growing ones, and we expect to go back to having three services as soon as those babies are ready. In the mean time, Ms. Meryl will be bringing Shabbat spirit to infants up through kindergarteners)

Learning to Lead    -- 10:30-11:30am. Feb 22 & 29, Mar 14 & 28, Apr 11 & 25, May 2, 16 & 30
This program gives youth ages 7 & up the opportunity to learn to chant and lead parts of the Shabbat morning service in a relaxed environment, getting to know the liturgy and our own unique Shir Chadash take on the melodies and nusach.

Shabbat morning babysitting    -- We have found a regular babysitter, Debbie Schnell. Please greet and get to know her. We're so glad to have Debbie with us!

Coffee & questions  -- Mar 15, Apr 26. 10:15-11:15, Beit Midrash
Stop in for a cup of coffee and some treats. Jennie will be available for brief (~10 minute) one-on-ones with any parents who would like to discuss questions or concerns regarding their children and Shul School.
Sundays 9-11:30am at Shir Chadash
Tuesdays 4-6pm at the Uptown JCC
