Join us for the May Ice Cream Social!
Come enjoy a cool treat and make some new friends at our May Ice Cream Social! Stop by the cafeteria after school this Friday, May 9 for all the fun. Mustangs can buy ice cream and other tasty treats using SKORR cards and/or their own money brought from home. Volunteers help set up and sell ice cream after school HERE. It’s a great opportunity for both students and volunteers to socialize and enjoy sweet treats, all while raising money for the school.

Meadows 3rd Annual Pickleball Tournament on Sunday 5/18!
Join us for the third annual Meadows Elementary Pickleball Fundraiser on May 18 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Country Club. Whether you are an experienced player or a beginner, the event promises an evening of friendly competition, community engagement, and support for our school programs. Attendees can look forward to prizes, refreshments, music, and more. Bring a partner and register to play—or simply join us to cheer on the teams and contribute to a meaningful cause.

Volunteer Spotlight
We are spotlight on our Student Store superstars, Lara Bender and Andrea Golovko! These ladies bring joy and excitement to our students by organizing the Student Store throughout the year. Mustangs can cash in on good behavior by using their hard earned SKORR cards as currency or use money. Their efforts have made the Student Store a beloved destination and it gives students an opportunity to practice smart shopping choices, and enjoy school spirit through fun prizes and rewards. Thank you Lara and Andrea.

MBMS PE Uniform Order Deadline – May 9th!
Hello 5th grade parents! It’s hard to believe, but it’s already time to start getting ready for next school year. Place your MBMS PE uniform order* by Friday, May 9th to guarantee your student is ready to go.
Orders at the start of the school year will be limited to sizes left in stock, and new stock can take 6–8 weeks to fulfill due to back to school demands. Skip the scramble and 6th grade nerves, and check it off your list now - your future self will thank you!

*Note: All MBMS students must dress for PE. Uniforms include shirts, shorts, and optional spirit wear. Students also have the option to wear solid navy shorts and a solid gray t-shirt.

Please join our District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting on Thursday, May 8 from 4:00-5:00 pm in the District Office Board Room. Come to learn about programs and supports for English Learners and multilingual students and provide input on ways that we can better improve those supports. See the agenda for this meeting HERE. These meetings are led by Kortney Krivokopich, English Learner TOSA. This will be the last DELAC meeting of this school year - all are welcome!

Basically Better Basketball is offering classes early April through early June through the Manhattan Beach Parks & Rec Department. Your child will get the attention and skill repetition necessary to develop the knowledge and confidence to become a better player.

Mini Mustang Summer Theatre Camp
Mira Costa Drama Tech students are excited to welcome thespians excited to spend a week at theatre camp! Campers will have fun exploring acting, singing, dancing, improv and more with some games and crafts sprinkled in! Our talented staff is excited to welcome campers from Kindergarten to 5th grade and will create age appropriate groups according to the number of campers registered. The week will end with a short parent showcase around 1pm on Friday. We can't wait to explore theatre with your camper this summer! Open to current Kinder through 5th graders.
