Narragansett High School October 2018 Newsletter
October 2018
A Message from Mr.Warner
Hello parents and guardians,

I hope this message finds you and your child(ren) well, and settling into our new school year. From an adult perspective the kids seem to be doing great and are involving themselves in life here at Narragansett High School.
Safety and security became a hot topic at the end of last year. We have incorporated a number of security initiatives into our daily practice at NHS. The kids, to their benefit, have risen to the occasion. They have respected our new rules regarding leaving and entering our building, and they work hard at keeping a positive culture alive and well in our school.
October will be a busy month with state testing in grades 9-11, Spirit week October 1 through October 6, as well as, our seniors beginning to look at options regarding college and career.
All in all its been a great start at NHS, even taking into account a few noticeable bumps around water and heat issues. I along with our faculty and staff, look forward to 2018/2019! I am happy to report we are well underway for another great school year.

The goal of the NHS PTO is to support teachers and students to enhance the learning experiences for our children. We strive to facilitate an atmosphere where teachers, administrators, and support staff can do their best work so that our students will be able to have a positive and successful high school experience. In addition, research indicates that when families are involved, a child is more apt to get higher grades, be more likely to graduate, and go on to college or another successful career.

The PTO would like to extend an invitation to NHS parents to join us for some appetizers at the Bike Stop Cafe (Boon St) on Thursday, October 18 th from 7-9pm. We welcome you to share thoughts and ideas with other NHS parents, or just meet us and see what the PTO is all about! Please come - we look forward to seeing you!
