Sandi Keaton-Wilson is an American writer of prose, poetry, short stories, plays, and performance pieces and has become recognized as a Southern Appalachian writer. Her new book,
No Shroud of Silence
, is a collection of literary poems and stories that span decades of life in Appalachia (southeast Kentucky), speaks of family, place, loss, grief, domestic violence, prejudice, perseverance, resilience, spirituality, humor, and hope. Keaton-Wilson will read from her new book on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m. in the Ford Student Art Gallery in Allara Library.

Cumberland Run is a country band from Nashville performing high-energy, fan-favorite music! First established in 2011, they burst onto the scene in 2014 as a house band on the Legendary Honky Tonks/Lower Broadway strip in Nashville, Tenn. at Margaritaville. Now, they are on the rotation at three fantastic venues in Nashville including Margaritaville, Blake Shelton's bar Ole Red, and the exclusive, world-famous Wildhorse Saloon after ranking into the Final Four of Wildhorse Saloon's 2014 'Battle for the Saddle' competition. They seek to dominate the country music industry with their dynamic, high-octane fueled performances and their powerful original music that transcends the limits of the dance floor. An alumni awards presentation will be held on the football field at 5:45 p.m. Distinguished alumni, honorary alumni, rising young alumni, and the Gary Thrash Outstanding Ambassador awards will be presented. The action-packed Saturday continues as the Bears take the field against Union College. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during halftime of the football game.
