REMINDERS + CLARIFICATIONS
CONTINUITY OF CARE
Providers — If you have sent a specific link to your continuity of care (priority) families, that link is defaulting to the 2023-24 application year. Please make sure that your families know to complete their application in the 2024-25 application year. If you are missing a child and the parent says they completed the application, please reach out to UPK@jointinitiatives.org with the child’s name and program where they have priority so that we may see if the application has been completed correctly.
Remember that families who have continuity of care MUST complete their 2024-25 application by close of business on March 28 to be eligible for placement in a priority seat. Providers may only decline for continuity of care reasons at this time.
CONTINUITY OF CARE ACCEPTANCE
Providers must check birth certificates of families prior to accepting them for enrollment. The system has been allowing some families to get through even though the child is age-eligible for kindergarten. It is critical that we catch these children before they take up a priority seat, so please check dates of birth!
CHANGING PROGRAMS OR SEAT NUMBERS
Providers may make changes to their seat numbers at any time by reaching out to Noreen at nglt@mac.com.
INSURANCE INFORMATION AND PROVIDER AGREEMENT
Providers must submit their insurance information and other required documents prior to the April algorithm being run in order to receive matches. If you have not already done so, please review the information on pages 32 to 34 in the Provider Guide HERE and submit the necessary documents. The provider agreement will then be sent to your designated signer via DocuSign and must be signed electronically.
UP-TO-DATE TIMELINES
Priority families will receive their matches on April 3 and will have until April 10 to accept or decline those priority matches. The first algorithm will run sometime in mid-April.
CHILDREN WITH IEPS + SUBMITTING/CHANGING APPLICATIONS
- Families of children with IEPs are not able to select a program or a site when submitting their application. The application goes directly to the school district or Pikes Peak BOCES to work with the family for placement.
-
Families who need to make changes in their 2024-25 application must contact upk@jointinitiatives.org so the application can be unlocked. Unlike last year, JI UPK Team members are not permitted to make those changes — only families can do that — but we first have to unlock the application.
