"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery
Newsletter
NOVEMBER 2022
URBAN textures
Dear friends,
Welcome to my monthly Newsletter, which I have been publishing for several years and have enjoyed sending to friends and clients in order to keep them informed of my current photographic interests, new works, upcoming exhibits and other Gallery events.
A new "subject" is at the center of each Newsletter, with which I present a short series of pertinent images along with any needed description and details, in order to allow my viewers to become more actively part of the discussion.
Most of the imagery displayed will be eventually on view at "IMAGES" Art Gallery, 14406 Detroit Rd., Lakewood, and of course I always welcome anyone's comments and interest in my work. The Gallery is open and I would be very happy to extend to all an invitation to contact us so that a personal time for a visit could be conveniently arranged, if so desired.
Any of these and other images could be custom printed/framed and become part of your art collection, based on your specifications and desires.
Over the years my recipients list has gradually grown, thanks to your interest and support, and I encourage you to share this "PHOTOBLOG" with friends and art lovers in your circles.
More of my photography on view at www.mellinophotography.com.
A sincere "thank you" for your interested attention.
The November PHOTOBLOG is dedicated to the ever interesting and appealing world of "Urban Landscapes", which I find so intriguing and exciting, since this has the capacity to deeply define a city with its constant changes and variations often triggered by the surrounding realities, the history and the people living within it.
Most of these images are of CLE., where I find tremendous subjects to shoot, in my opinion no less interesting than NYC or Chicago, to mention a few; of course it is not fair to make a comparison to any Italian or European cities, given the huge historic background of the old Continent!
Never the less, walking around our City is often visually exciting and stimulating, and I hope that my efforts might perhaps give someone else the impetus to get out there and ...LOOK around!
These urban images are the results of many walks around Cleveland and NYC, with a little Italy in between...
What I always like about our city is the ubiquitous overlapping between the "old" and the "new", as you would as well notice anywhere in NYC; this clearly adds a great degree of appeal and "texture" to Cleveland, this little secret architectural gem of the Mid West!
I purposely am not describing each image, since I actually am trying to lead the viewer into more of a global "feeling" for these places. Cleveland people will probably be able to correctly recognize all the "textures" of their city, but It would be of great interest to me to learn from others how easy it might be to recognize each city one from the other!
The view of the Spanish steps in Rome is a classic reminder of the centuries old beauty of so much of Europe, with its unparalleled load of history and traditions, clearly not found in the "New world", yet so important to recognize and respect...Yes, I am frightened by some of the political postures which have recently been directed against our historical heritage in an extremely ignorant and worthless effort to "cancel" history!
"IMAGES" Photographic Art Gallery is currently exhibiting a wonderful series of Italian images titled "ITALIA, unseen!"; most of these are in fact of places and small villages hardly on the usual tourist map, but of great appeal to me. I hope that you might as well enjoy them, while learning more about these places.

We are very pleased to host Sarah Van Raalten as a guest artist on November 18th
(3 to 7 pm) and 19th (noon to 4 pm); she will exhibit a series of classically inspired oils which you will certainly appreciate. Please come to the Gallery to meet Sarah and admire her works.
As we quickly enter into the Holiday season, I wish to all our friends and clients a splendid Thanksgiving, hopefully in the company of family and good friends!
Best to all,

Marcello.
