AMERICORPS and YOU?
JOIN US FOR ONE OF TWO INFORMATION SESSIONS ON AMERICORPS
AmeriCorps is a service program that provides opportunities to qualified individuals; it's known as the 'Domestic Peace Corps.' An AmeriCorps member is someone who provides service to their host site while earning a living allowance and an Education Award.
URC is near the end of a planning grant that will allow us to apply for AmeriCorps 'slots'. We will host 2 short sessions for potential host sites, Weds and Friday this week.
Here's our weblink for more info.
URC will have between 3-5 slots reserved for partnering organizations. These members, which the hosts sites recruit, can serve in a variety of capacities for up to one year (full-time), with preference for:
-
Assisting in programming that helps with refugee resettlement, youth engagement, and helping low-income residents
-
Organizations that already partner with or are members of URC
-
Serve primarily in St. Joseph County
There is a cost-share to the host site, and supervision responsibilities.
To find out more, join us for one of two very short (no more than 30 minutes) virtual info sessions this week:
Drop in, RSVP if you can, or if you can't make it and want to find out more, please email Christian Boekhout at americorps@urcsjc.org
