YSOP Enjoys URCC Residents
The Youth Service Opportunity Project (YSOP) connects volunteers from across the country to volunteer opportunities in the Washington, D.C. area. We have partnered with YSOP for the past few years and they always send helpful volunteers to URCC. On February 25th, we hosted a Black History Luncheon for our residents,  and the volunteers assisted with setting up, food & drink distribution, and even lent a helping hand to  our Finance department by helping them with some filing. We are extremely grateful for YSOP!
URCC Goes to the Movies!

Our residents got the exclusive opportunity to attend a live recording of WYCB’s radio show The Senior Zone hosted by Shawn Perry. The show featured tips, resources, and  interviews all related to senior living in Washington, D.C.  At the conclusion of the radio show we viewed a screening of the movie Broken Memories starring Ivan Sergei and Rance Howard. The movie focused on the challenges a father (Rance Howard) and son (Ivan Sergei) face because of Howard’s battle with dementia. It is a dramatic story of love and compassion with a bit of comedy that is sure to warm everyone’s heart. To see a video of The Senior Zone and Broken Memories  event please click the link below.

URCC Applies for Garden  Grant

URCC currently partners with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) by providing nutritional food and fresh grown produce to our residents, staff and visitors from the Bank, and is looking to expand our partnership through their 2016 Garden Grant initiative.

A vegetable and fruit garden will mean so much to our nursing home residents. Aside from the obvious benefits of having access to fresh produce for our residents, it will also allow them to engage in a fun and new way while bringing a more home-like environment to the place they now call home.
The Resident Community Advisory Board (RCAB) directly supports the residents of Unique Residential Care Center by providing the resources to fund numerous activities that our residents thoroughly enjoy. With your contribution, RCAB can continue to sponsor outings, cookouts, in-house games/activities, and more. Thank you for your ongoing support!

RCAB is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Your financial support is tax deductible as permitted by law.
