Hurricane season is a very stressful time at Jungle Friends -- especially when a category 5 hurricane is threatening the entire state of Florida, yikes!

Thankfully, the path has changed and it looks like Hurricane Dorian will hug the Florida coastline and  NOT make landfall! Gainesville is not too far out of the cone and things can change suddenly, so w e are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best!
As you can see in the photo below, we have more disturbances lurking! Dorian is bringing in the Hurricane Season with quite a wallop -- and we are bracing ourselves for more to come.
Even with the tense environment at the sanctuary, we are so grateful that this year, for the FIRST TIME EVER, we have 2 buildings that are dedicated solely for housing monkeys during a hurricane.

In June, we launched a campaign to purchase land and three hurricane shelters. The total cost of this project was $240,000. We are happy to report that we have raised about $213,000 to date and we need less than $27,000, please help us reach our goal!

A very special thank you to those of you who have already contributed, you're the best!

With the completion of this most vital project, we will have Hurricane Shelters in place, and will not have to use the Bob Barker Medical Clinic as a shelter. Please donate as much as you can, thank you!
One of the Hurricane Shelters purchased -- thanks to you!
Inside the Hurricane Shelter, double-checking every cage is complete.
Shannon and Sara, Mr. and Ms. Fixit, are getting the generators ready!

With your help, we can better prepare for the next big storm. Thank you in advance for your contribution to our  Hurricane Fund !
