URGENT! ABORTION EXPANSION BILL VOTE OCCURRING ON MAY 31ST- NYS SENATE HEALTH COMMITTEE

PLEASE CALL ASAP THE SENATORS BELOW AND ASK THEM TO VOTE NO TO THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH ACT

(RHA) S-2696. VOTE TO OCCUR ON MAY 31ST.

Like the proposal that was defeated during state budget negotiations, the RHA allows for abortion on demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy, empowers non-doctors to perform abortions, and would essentially preclude the NYS legislature from enacting reasonable standards surrounding abortion, such as parental notification, informed consent and 24 hour wait periods. Further, the RHA potentially re-victimizes victims of sex trafficking and domestic violence by stripping away the opportunity to criminally prosecute traffickers and abusers who coerce a woman to undergo an abortion or kill an unborn child, during an attack.

This bill has already passed the Assembly. It must be defeated in the Senate Health Committee , scheduled to consider the RHA on, THURSDAY, MAY 31st . Please call and ask the SENATORS to vote NO to the Reproductive Health Act. S-2696.
