Dear IWIRC Members and Friends,
The IWIRC Executive Committee has decided to cancel the upcoming Spring Conference to be held in conjunction with the ABI Spring meeting in Washington, D.C., April 22-23, 2020. We have been assessing the Covid-19 situation over the past several weeks and it was determined that it is simply not feasible or safe for our members to participate in the Spring Conference, especially in light of the latest U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
For those of you who have registered for the Spring Conference, we will automatically refund your registration fee in the next week or so. Please don't forget to cancel your hotel room and any other travel arrangements you have made.
Our Woman of the Year in Restructuring Award, which is usually presented at the Spring Conference, will be presented to this year's recipient,
Judge Karen S. Jennemann, at the Fall Conference in San Diego.
I also want to extend a special thank you to the Spring Conference Panelists and the Program committee. Prior to the cancellation, they had pulled together a fabulous conference. We will be looking at options to do a virtual program of some or all of the panels and presentations and/or present then in October in San Diego.
For our members worldwide, we want to express our concern and care for you and your families. We know this is a stressful time and situation for everyone, but especially so for women with younger families and older relatives. We encourage each of you to take time for yourself. Feel free to share any advice, frustrations or questions on navigating your professional and personal obligations with IWIRC and we will compile and share "best practices" on IWIRC social media.
