Thank you, New York Families Action, for alerting us that the NYS Legislature may vote on Medical Aid in Dying aka Assisted Suicide as early as next week.

Supporters of Life!

1. Please pray MAID does not come up for vote in both the NYS Senate and Assembly next week. 

2. Please CALL NYS Legislators Urging them to VOTE NO to MAID. Our memo is here for reference.

Suggested script

Dear Senator/Assemblyperson,

I am a voting New Yorker and I oppose the Medical Aid in Dying Act /MAID.

MAID jeopardizes the lives of the disabled, aged and infirm. Legalizing medical aid in dying increases rates of suicide, including non-assisted suicide rates, according to comprehensive studies, and disproportionately impacts women.

Self-administering a lethal dose of drugs, even if provided by a physician, is suicide, and helping someone commit suicide is criminal. Progressive societies promote life-affirming solutions, not the violent destruction of human life. 

On behalf of vulnerable people and future generations please VOTE NO to MAID, #S138, #A136.

3. Please reserve your seat on our Bus to Albany to lobby against MAID, on May 6th, by emailing us here, info@fclny.org. We will be leaving Rochester, at 7 am on May 6th for Albany.

4. If MAID passes before May 6th, it is imperative we still go to Albany on May 6th. Most New Yorkers do not know about NY's Assisted Suicide bills. On May 6th we will shine a bright light on MAID, and if it passes next week, we will expose the legislators who voted YES and who voted NO to assisted suicide in NY.
