Liebe TCGIS Gemeinschaft,
Dear TCGIS Community,
We write with an important notification following our most recent on-site Covid testing on Tuesday, November 23rd. This evening we received 25 positive test results from this week’s testing. Three other positive cases were reported earlier this week, bringing our current school positive cases to 28. This represents over 8% of the tested population, a significant increase from last week, and higher than the most recently reported positivity rates in either Hennepin or Ramsey Counties. An infectious disease specialist has let us know that the positivity rate is likely the same among our untested students. We are currently testing just under 60% of our student population.
The Incident Response Team is in the process of contacting all close contacts of those who tested positive. Please note that these cases were asymptomatic. The CDC advises that those with COVID may spread the virus, even when asymptomatic and that children are more commonly asymptomatic than adults. For this reason we felt it was critical to share this information with our community as soon as it was available to us as families and friends gather together over the coming few days.
TCGIS will be consulting with MN public health officials over the holiday weekend regarding the school’s number of cases and how this impacts school operations. We will be in touch as soon as possible with further information.
Gemeinsam sind wir stark!
Together we are strong.
