COUNCIL MEETING TODAY

-Please Help Us Help Pasadena-

Join us this afternoon in calling on the City of Pasadena to help displaced residents.

Agenda Item 3

Pasadena City Council will hold a special meeting TODAY (January 13th) at 4pm to approve emergency measures in response to the ongoing wildfires. We have an opportunity to help our displaced neighbors by asking the City Council to approve one temporary change to Measure H.

Please participate via this link, or send email correspondence to correspondence@cityofpasadena.net to let City Council members know that Measure H has caused many owners in Pasadena to reluctantly leave their ADUs, duplexes and unused condos vacant. Fearful of a $38,000 fee to move back into their own properties, owners have exited the rental market permanently.

While housing activists demand "free rent", eviction

moratoriums and rent freezes, we simply ask the City

Council to use its emergency powers to grant a temporary

extension to Measure H's existing rules that allow

 temporary tenancies,

This is not an attempt to overthrow Measure H by stealth. We are simply asking the council to assist owners in freeing up their own properties to alleviate an escalating housing crisis.

Please join us to let the Pasadena City Council know that we are here to help.

Thank you,
