Construction Update

May 23, 2024

Memorial Day

In observance of Memorial Day, no work will take place from Friday, May 24 through Tuesday, May 28 at 7 a.m. Please enjoy a safe holiday weekend.

Here's what you can expect over the next week:

Ongoing Activities

  • Beginning as early as Tuesday night, May 28, construction crews will begin work on the westbound outside shoulder. Due to the narrow construction zone, crews will close one westbound lane of traffic nightly to perform excavation work. Please watch for slowing traffic to avoid rear-end collisions.
  • Concrete curb and gutter are still being placed along the eastbound shoulder along with placement of road base materials, traffic signal and electrical conduit placement between I-15 and Center Street.

Schedule

  • Nightly work Tuesday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. NOTE: Most work will be done at night to reduce traffic jams, however, some daytime work will also take place.

Traffic Impacts

  • The trail along US-6 is now closed for the duration of the project. Trail users may encounter other temporary closures of sidewalks in the area. Please follow the indicated detours for your safety. Accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be maintained.
  • Business access will remain open.

Enhancements include:

  • Implementing dual left turns at Expressway Lane and Canyon Creek Parkway.
  • Adding a third eastbound lane, extending to the east of Expressway Lane.
  • Installing new asphalt paving from I-15 to the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.
  • Relocating the trail on the south side of US-6.

These improvements are designed to enhance traffic flow, safety, and overall connectivity in the area.

Safety

Please be extra mindful as you drive on US-6. Our hardworking team is out there, and we want to make sure everyone gets home to their families safe and sound every day!

Support Local Business

Shopping locally boosts the economy, generates tax revenue, and supports small businesses during construction, ensuring continued access to your favorite spots.
