The Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health Report

The Policy Center provides a comprehensive view into the state of maternal mental health in America. Their report indicates that the US is failing to adequately support maternal health. States are graded on 3 domaines: 1) providers and programs; 2) screening and screening reimbursement; 3) insurance coverage and treatment.

State Report Cards - Policy Center for Maternal Mental Health

In 2023, recognizing that in the U.S., responsibility for healthcare systems and health outcomes largely fall to the states, the Policy Center introduced the inaugural maternal mental health reports to identify key data sets and track results by state. The 2024 report cards highlight progress and remaining areas of opportunity.
