US Phases Out the Penny

With the United States Mint ending the production of pennies in 2025, retailers and banks are already confronting shortages of one-cent coins, and businesses are scrambling to adapt. Many stores are urging customers to pay with exact change or cards, and several retailers have begun rounding cash transactions to the nearest nickel. For high-volume merchants, those seemingly small rounding adjustments can add up.
