State College, PA  – September 27, 2022

The official 2022 XVI Bass Fishing World Championship is set for October 16-22, 2023 as the fishing world descends upon Lake Murray in Columbia, SC. The event, officially sanctioned by the Confederation Internationale de Peche Sportive – CIPS, is the only bass fishing world championship acknowledged by the International Olympic Committee through their affiliation with AIMS (Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport - https://aims.sport ) and GAISF (Global Association of International Sports Federations - https://gaisf.sport)

The USA Bass Team is set to repeat their 2019 gold medal performance at the World Championships held in Mexico on Lake Cuchillo. USA Bass is led by USA Bass President Mark Schlarb, Team Captain Scott Martin and coaches Charlie Evans and David Fritts. They are proud to announce the pairings for our 2022 team:

  • Scott Martin & Scott Canterbury
  • Fred Roumbanis & James Watson
  • Mark Rose & Anthony Gagliardi
  • David Dudley & Jacob Wheeler

The USA Bass Team has amassed 48 tour wins, nine Angler of the Year titles and five Tour Championships!

Team Scott Martin & Scott Canterbury have fished together in two past World Championships. They won both the individual gold and team gold at the 2019 World Championships. They have great chemistry in this format.

Team Fred Roumbanis & James Watson have a special bond on the water. The two good friends bring energy and excitement to the event. They are also two-time World Championship medalists.

Team Mark Rose & Anthony Gagliardi bring a veteran presence to the team. This is also Anthony’s home lake and site of his FLW’s Forrest Wood Cup win.

Look for big things from this pair!

Team David Dudley & Jacob Wheeler share a combined six Angler-of-the-Year titles between them. These MLF pros are fierce competitors and are capable of a dominating performance!
