Reporting: The safety and well-being of athletes is dependent upon all of us. Help keep athletes safe by knowing who should report, what to report, when to report, and where to report.
WHO – Adult Participants who suspect misconduct or child abuse involving a participant have a duty to report prohibited conduct.
WHAT – Misconduct or child abuse as defined by the USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Policy, including USA Gymnastics Prevention Policies, or the SafeSport Code for the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement and the U.S. Center for SafeSport Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP).
WHEN – Report sexual misconduct or child abuse immediately to law enforcement and the U.S. Center for SafeSport. Any matter subject to the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s exclusive jurisdiction, or violation of the MAAPP, must be reported directly to the U.S. Center for SafeSport, in a timely manner. Matters other than sexual misconduct, including emotional and physical misconduct, may also be reported to the Center.
Report any matter not subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Center for SafeSport directly to USA Gymnastics, including violations of the USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Policy or Prevention Policies. USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Center for SafeSport will accept reports at any time regardless of when the misconduct occurred.
