Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors online training course was developed by US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). AGC San Diego and instructor Larry Smith of USACE Sacramento District is an approved training provider. The CQM-C certificate earned from the class will be good for 5 years, and is good for both Army and Navy projects.
The virtual course offers prospective QC Managers and Administrators the opportunity to satisfy the CQM-C training requirements specified in most USACE and NAVFAC construction contracts. This virtual course is provided via ZOOM, audio and video are required to attend. All class times are Pacific Standard Time and pre-registration is required for all classes.
General Information. This program has been updated as of January 21, 2021. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requires the contractor’s Quality Control Managers to attend the “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” (CQM-C) course and obtain a Certificate of Completion before being allowed to perform their quality control responsibilities outlined in the contract. Certificates of Completion are valid for five years from the date of course completion.
Program Description: This program is held VIRTUALLY via ZOOM. The instructor is Larry J. Smith, PE, CCM who is certified by the Sacramento District CQM Course Manager to present this training. The LIVE online training class uses PowerPoint presentation, workbook exercises with discussion, quizzes, case study exercises, a homework assignment, Pre-Test, & Final Exam.
Requirements for Certification:
• There will be 20-minute MANDATORY orientation at 11:00 am PST prior to training for each class to go over the new program schedule, go over pre-assignment, work out any technical issues and some Q & A regarding the course.
• Participants will be required to print out their own Study Guide Version Issued: 20 Jan 21 along with new PowerPoint presentation that will be issued by AGC San Diego once registration is completed.
• Participants must be present and attentive at all times during the training with webcams / video turned on. Participants are not allowed to step out to take a phone call or any other business during discussion time. Breaks are included at each hour where personal business can be handled.
• Students must complete and submit to the instructor all in class assignments. A total of 15 quizzes will be given during the time class is in session.
• Participants must score a minimum of 70% on the closed book, closed note Final Exam for certification. The Final Exam will only be offered one time during this class.
