USB Soybean Quality Updates

Thanks to the United Soybean Board, and in cooperation with the University of Minnesota Department of Agronomy & Plant Genetics, FIRST can once again present soybean quality information for 2020 test entries. Protein and Oil content in grain samples taken at harvest are being analyzed at the UMN agronomy laboratory, and those results are added to the FIRST Region Summary PDF Reports available online and via email notification. Look for these updates as they are completed over the next several weeks.

Meet Klint Tucker - FIRST Field Manager in southern Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky

Klint Tucker has been in the research business since starting with Asgrow in 1992. He's handled replicated research trials as well as participating in Syngenta's Double Haploid Corn research program. Klint has known the FIRST organization since the beginning, including as a plot host for several years.

Perhaps more exciting is Klint's service as competition director for the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League - Western Series.

He grew up in Cowden, Illinois, and now lives in Effingham, IL. He and his wife are the proud parents of three children.

2021 FIRST Testing Plans

Michigan Thumb (MITH) region is back in the corn grain program. Another returning region, Indiana South, will feature 2 sites in northern Kentucky, expanding FIRST's reach into that area. Klint Tucker - new FIRST manager - will handle Illinois South and Indiana Central and South regions in 2021.

Since XtendFlex has been approved for import into the EU, FIRST will allow the technology in its 2021 trials.
