ADP Spring 2020 Internship Opportunity
|
|
USC Aiken offers many career opportunities for Pacers, and one of those opportunities is at the end of this month. A senior talent acquisition business representative from ADP, a global Fortune 250 company, will be at the Student Activities Center lobby on Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., to speak with upper class students from any major who are seeking a paid internship.
The
job description
is posted on our online job board, Purple Briefcase, or at
ADP
Spring 2020 Internship.
Interested students should come prepared with copies of a current resume and knowledge about
ADP
to make a positive impression. While not required, dressing professionally shows that students are serious about their job search. If students do not have professional attire, they can stop by Career Services in 108 Penland or call 803-641-3440 for a resume review and to obtain apparel from the Career Closet. Most, but not all, sizes are available.
We feel it is important to let parents and families know of this and other opportunities for students. Additional career resource information can be found

The Four Tops to Perform at USC Aiken
|
|
|
The Four Tops are coming to USC Aiken Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Come see this iconic group in concert at the Etherredge Center!
Their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964, made them stars, and their 60s track record on the label is indispensable to any retrospective of the decade.
In 1990, with 24 Top 40 pop hits to their credit, the Four Tops were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Since then, they have been touring incessantly, a towering testament to the enduring legacy of the Motown Sound they helped shape.
Attend with your student, or attend with your friends!

Writing Center Helps Students
|
|
|
Many students struggle with academic writing. After all, it isn’t a form of English we regularly speak or write in so some students may struggle with the rigors of university-level writing.
The Writing Center offers free, individual work sessions with trained writing consultants, workshops designed to support writing across the curriculum, and other writing resources. If your Pacer is struggling with academic writing, encourage them to call, email, or stop by USC Aiken's Writing Center for assistance.

The
Magellan Scholar Program
provides funds up to $3,000 to support undergraduate research under the direction of a faculty mentor. Students compete for this award with the submission of a research, scholarship, or creative project proposal developed in collaboration with a faculty mentor. Selection is based on the project’s educational and intellectual merit, the potential impact of the project, and the student’s previous academic success.
This opportunity is time sensitive. Interested students should read the instructions carefully and follow directions in the above link.

Washer and Dryer Availability
Resident students can check availability of washers and dryers without ever leaving their dorm room. Through their self service Carolina portal, students can get real time reports 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No more wasted time wondering if machines are available!

Our thoughts and prayers are with USC Aiken families who were directly impacted by Hurricane Dorian, especially our Bahamian families.
As always, safety and security are our top priority. Students should check conditions in their local area and along routes. When necessary, they should take prudent measures, use best judgment based on the conditions in their area before traveling, and allow for additional travel time.
The USC Aiken leadership tracks the progress of impending weather situations. Should inclement weather conditions impact the university’s operating schedule, updates will be posted on the web at:

- Be a place that any University of South Carolina Aiken collegiate woman can come and grow in relationships with others, ask difficult questions, and find a strong community of Christians and non-Christians alike.
- Provide an opportunity for the women of University of South Carolina Aiken to explore their faith in a nonjudgmental and open environment.
