The Los Angeles Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center, operated by the University of Southern California in partnership with the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of Economic and Business Policy, is currently enrolling local businesses in the USC Bridges to Business Success program.  

The USC Bridges Program, exclusively sponsored by Citi Community Development, is a technical assistance program that will provide a specialized business construction oriented training curriculum to build the capacity of small minority business owners. This allows businesses to be better prepared to secure contracting opportunities and create and retain jobs. The USC Bridges Program has been developed as a bundled training consisting of eight modular workshops held consecutively totaling approximately 32 hours in the classroom. Each of the classes is focused on one core area of operating a business. Topics include: Branding and Marketing, Accounting and Best Practices, Bonding, Finance and Insurance, Legal Issues, Certifications, Government Regulations, and effective communication and presentation skills.  

One of the greatest benefits of the USC Bridges Program is the inclusion of Minority Certification through the Southern California Minority Supplier Development Council (SCMSDC), a $350 value paid for by Citi Community Development.

This program, valued at $3,000, is being offered to qualified applicants for $499. Enrollment is limited to fifty(50) businesses. The class will be held on the USC main campus on eight consecutive Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm beginning June 22, 2013.
