Dr. Narsing Rao received the Dr. Venkataswamy Oration Award from the Aravind Eye Care System in India. The award ceremony can be viewed on YouTube. Video is cued to when Dr. Rao's award begins.
Dr. Lernik Torossian has been appointed as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the USC Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Torossian will help the department increase the presence of underrepresented groups in Ophthalmology and raise awareness of DEI-related issues in the department.

Jesse Berry, MD, received the Recognition of Service Award on behalf of Women in Ophthalmology (WIO). This award recognizes individuals who have served in a volunteer leadership capacity for WIO (Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Program Chair, etc.) and made a significant difference in the organization.

Sandy Zhang-Nunes, MD, received the Educators Award on behalf of Women in Ophthalmology.
