Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has designated April 28 as Occupational Safety and Health Day, aligning the city with the internationally recognized World Day for Safety and Health at Work. The designation also acknowledges the ongoing efforts of the USF SafetyFlorida Consultation Program.

COPH alumna receives USF's outstanding young alumni award

Alumna Stefania Alastre Arcusa was introduced as one of USF's recipients for the 2025 Outstanding Young Alumni Award at a ceremony on April 10. The award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated emerging and unique innovation, creativity and career success.

Health scientist and former ORISE Fellow relishes mentor role

Directly out of undergrad, Sara Wolicki worked as an accountant at a Vermont ski resort. She loved working with numbers and enjoyed the time with her coworkers, but something was missing. Wolicki found that missing piece in the field of public health - epidemiology and evaluation specifically - and never turned back.
